How to Avoid a Bummer of a Summer

Summer is here and we all want to enjoy this time of year and have fun while being active. Is here anything (pain, stiffness, weakness or lack of energy) keeping you from being active and enjoying summertime?

Pour a tall, cool glass of a juice, smoothie, or shake that you’ve made yourself and before you’ve even taken the first mouthful, just looking at it will make you feel good!

The great advantage of homemade drinks over commercially prepared ones is that you can decide what goes into them and you can vary the ingredients.  Enjoy some of the following drinks this summer!

1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 banana
1 cup fresh strawberries
1 cup fresh pineapple
2 tsp ground flax seeds
1 cup ice

Blend and enjoy!

1 cup plain fat-free yogurt
2 sliced peaches
1/2 cup raspberries
1/2 cup orange juice
1 cup ice

Blend and enjoy!

1/2 small watermelon, peeled, seeds removed, flesh roughly chopped
2 cups plain yogurt
Juice of 1 lime
1/2 cup ice

Blend until smooth and enjoy in a tall glass, decorated with fresh mint sprigs!
